YAKIMA, Wash. (Sept. 12) – The Central Washington University women's cross country team took first in the 2015 CWU Apple Ridge Run held in Yakima.
Dani Eggleston led the women with a first-place finish.
Eggleston finished with a time of 15 minutes flat and was followed by fellow Wildcat Erin Chincar, who finished with a time of 15:02.
Megan Rogers finished fourth for Central Washington with a time of 15:44.
The Wildcats placed two more in the top 10, as Stephanie Rexus (15:47) and Elena Gomez (15:51) finished seventh and eighth respectively.
Five more Wildcats landed in the top 20.
Jayna Inderbitzin finished 13
th, Ashley Mason finished 15
th, Alexa Shindruk came in 16
th, Brenna Liebel finished 18
th, and
Natalie Bergstrom finished 19
th.
The women finished atop the leaderboard with 22 points. Western Washington finished second behind a 12-point gap at 34.
The men finished second with Jonathan Lafferty as CWU's top placed finish. Lafferty finished ninth with a time of 20:57.
Josh Boston finished 11
th with a time of 21:10.
Kyle Paulson, Tyler Humphries,
Alex Martinez, and Hanson Lee took 13
th through 16
th respectively.
Dylan Darlington rounded out the Wildcats in the men's top 20.
The Wildcat men came in second with 49 points. They finished behind Western Washington, who led with 22 points.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Sept. 19 at the UW Sundodger Invitational in Seattle.
