ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University track and field team is set to host the 23rd Annual Spike Arlt Invitational on Saturday, April 22. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PST with the men's hammer throw north of Tomlinson Stadium. The track events are slated to begin at 11 a.m. with the men and women's mixed 10,000-meter run.
 
"We are definitely looking forward to being at home and all that entails," CWU head coach Kevin Adkisson explained. "It is great to have that comfort level of being at our own facility, and our team members always seem to bring out a little something more to defend their home turf. If the weather cooperates, I think that we will see a lot of new best marks across the board, and hopefully even a few school records fall."
 
All events for the Spike Arlt Inv. Track & Field Meet will be held at the campus track & field facility, located on the north end of campus off of Walnut St., between 14^th and 18^th Streets.
 
Admission to the meet is free to all fans. A complete schedule of events for the meet can be found in the PDF attached.
 
Senior Madison Garcia will be back in action on Saturday for CWU in the sprinting events, where she won two event titles 100 and 200-meter races a year ago at this meet.
 
Overall, the Wildcats secured 11 event titles at their home meet last season and hope to repeat their winning ways Saturday.
 
"We are very pleased with the team effort that is happening through the department, as quite a few of our other teams are getting on board to come out and help and lighten the load overall for Sat," Adkisson said.
