ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University track and field team is ready to host the CWU Final Qualifier this Friday, May 5. Field events are slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. PST with the women's hammer throw north of Tomlinson Stadium. The track events will kick off at 2:30 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdles.

"I am definitely looking forward to achieving some good results this weekend," CWU head coach Kevin Adkisson said. "It is always a great time of the season because people are getting down to that do or die. They are getting a little more rest, which will bring them toward their peaks. We always tend to see a number of people making some fairly dramatic improvements."

"It is also an interesting meet because we are preparing for conference,"Adkisson continued. "Some of those higher-end people who have their marks well established are holding off on their final taper. Some of them are resting. Some of them are doing different events to help them sharpen up. The other half of the team is focusing on one more big effort to improve their marks to get themselves into the conference meet. It should be a great meet on Friday."

All events for this meet will be held at the campus track & field facility, located on the north end of campus east of Walnut St., between 14th and 18th Streets. Parking will be available in the gravel lot on the north end of the track/stadium.

Admission to the meet is free to all fans. A complete schedule of events for the meet can be found in the PDF attached.
