Earned three letters in football. Won Tri-Normal all-star honors in 1929 at long-side or running guard and also voted Most Inspirational Award winner. Had long and distinguished coaching career in football, basketball and track at Meridian, Marysville, Broadway and Garfield high schools and also served as an administrator at Chief Seattle.
