Bob Guptill who, before entering his current position, was public relations officer for the Pacific West Conference. He served as sports information director at Central Washington University for two decades. He won the 1996 Clarence "Ike" Pearson award, which is presented annually to an NAIA sports information director who has contributed outstanding service to his or her institution and to the NAIA....Guptill was honored in 1984-85 by winning the Combined Football/Basketball Brochure contest sponsored by the NAIIA. Guptill was a sportswriter for the Lewiston (Idaho) Morning Tribune, The Dalles (Ore.) Chronicle and the Ellensburg Daily Record before coming to Central in Sept, 1980. In addition to his duties at CWU, he has served as media relations coordinator for the Columbia Football Association, the Pacific Northwest Athletic Conference, the Evergreen Conference and was district information director for NAIA District 1 . Guptlll also worked on the statistics crew at the NAIA national basketball tournament for 11 years serving as the coordinator for the final seven seasons. He also served as the media coordinator for the NAIA wrestling national championships for two seasons when they were held in Butte, Mont. A 1974 graduate of Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in communications, he was a student assistant in the school's sports information office as an undergraduate. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1969.
