Founded wrestling program at CWU in 1959. Coached 14 national champions and 34 All-Americans in 25 seasons. NAIA Coach-of-the-Year in 1971 and 1974. All-conference halfback at CWU in 1950. Won conference track titles in pole vault and javelin in 1950. Elected to NAIA Hall-of-Fame in 1981.
