Martinson was a two-time NAIA All-American, placing third nationally in the javelin during both the 1982 and 1983 season. The four-year letterwinner had a career-best javelin of 160’11”, setting a new school record. A two-sport athlete, Martinson was the third-leading scorer and second best rebounder on the 1981-82 basketball team.
