Coached by Erie Beardsley, the '74 National Championship team dominated in competition, and took the number one spot in the country by over 20 points. The team was led by Kit Shaw who took 1st place in the tournament as Dan Older and Rockey isley earned 2nd. John Burkholder, Dewey Parish, Bob Pierce and Greg Gowen each placed in the top ten as they finished 3rd, 5th, 5th and 6th respectively, for the title team.
