ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Apr. 5) -- The Central Washington University men's rugby team handily defeated the University of Washington 89-0 Saturday afternoon in the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference semi finals at the CWU Soccer Fields.
The win gives CWU a 12-0 record heading into the finals.
"We played well in front of a great crowd today and this was a fantastic way to send out our seniors," Head coach Anthony Pacheco said. "We will need to put in a great week of preparation for the Ducks, they are a talented side that can score points."
The Wildcats took a 31-0 lead at the half as they scored on four tries that were each successfully converted by
Josh Bower (Yakima, WA).
The Huskies were overpowered in the second half as the Wildcats touched down 10 more tries in the half, two by
Ian Wright (Renton, WA) and
Cameron Marek (San Ramon, CA).
CWU Plays The University of Oregon for the NCRC Championship Saturday Apr. 12 at 3 p.m. at Magnusson park in Seattle.
