CWU First-Year Checklist

1. Apply to CWU
2. Register at the NCAA Eligibility Center
3. Complete FAFSA (Send to CWU)
4. Sign-Up for Housing
5. Apply for scholarships
6. Sign-Up for Orientation
7. Enroll For Classes
8. Meet with High School Counselor to go over NCAA Eligibility Requirements
9. Complete medical paperwork with CWU Athletic Training Department
10. Move in!!

NCAA Eligibility Center Requirements

• NCAA ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT CHECKLIST
• REQUEST FINAL AMATUERISM CERTIFICATION
  • Fall enrollment - April 1
  • Winter/Spring enrollment - October 1
• PROVIDE FINAL OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT AFTER GRADUATION
• NCAA COLLEGE BOUND STUDENT-ATHLETE HANDBOOK

• Make sure you are meeting with your counselor to ensure you have meet the NCAA requirements this includes:
  • 16 Core Courses
  • GPA Requirements
  • Complete Amateurism and Request Certification
  • NCAA Eligibility Center: https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/
  • 2024-25 Division II New Academic Requirements

CWU Academics

• Registering for class will take place at orientation
  • Orientation is mandatory for in state first year students
• Out of state students may contact the Wildcat Academic Success Center to register for classes beginning July 1

Athletic Training

• All incoming freshman must have a physical within the last 6 months, primary insurance and complete the online forms.
