Monmonth, Ore. (Feb 21) –The Central Washington University men's rugby team secured two wins in the state of Oregon outscoring its opponents 153-0, defeating Oregon State University Friday evening 79-0, and Western Oregon University Saturday 74-0.
The two wins give the Wildcats a 5-0 record this season and a 4-0 conference record in the National Colligate Rugby Conference.
Oregon State University (Game One) Josh Bower got the Wildcats on the board early and often. The senior wing scored the first try of the evening in the 2
nd minute and would find the try zone two more times in the 11
th and 68
th minute.
The Wildcats would roll into halftime with a 47-0 lead behind seven first half trys.
Dustin Melton and
Dominic Lindstrom each punched in a try in the final 10 minutes of the half. Bower converted six two-point conversions in the fist half to go along with two of his three trys.
The Wildcats opened the second half with two quick trys from
Trent Barnes and
Vili Toluta'u.
Odin Phenix would score his second try of the game in the 75
th minute and
Zach Siemens would cap of the day with the final try in the 80
th minute.
"Larry Peueneta didn't show up on the score sheet," Head coach
Tony Pacheco said. "But he was outstanding in attack and defense. He was an impactful ball carrier and created several opportunities for his teammates."

Western Oregon University (Game Two) The Wildcats struck in the first minute of play when
Dominic Lindstrom found the try zone and
Ian Wright converted the first of his seven two-point conversions.
Gavin Schag scored two first half trys in the 7
th and 20
th minute and
Zach Brewer gave the Wildcats a 45-0 lead going into the break with the final try of the half at the 36
th minute mark.
The Wildcats would open the second half with three trys in the first 13 minutes started by
Malachi Jones and consecutive trys by
Zach Siemens in the 9
th and 13
th minute. Siemens would finish the day with three trys to lead the Wildcats.
