16 Wildcats Earn 2015-16 GNAC FAR Scholar Athlete Award

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (July 27) – Sixteen Central Washington University student athletes have been named recipients of the Great Northwest Athletic conference Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR) Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
 
Of the 16 CWU recipients, 11 were women, with both track and field and soccer landing the most recipients with five each.
 
To receive the GNAC FAR Award a student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.85.  All student-athletes listed on any GNAC squad list, regardless of whether the sport is officially recognized by the GNAC, are eligible for the award.
 
Quarterback Colin Walsh, soccer midfielder Hadli Farrand, and cross country standout Connie Morgan have earned this award for the fourth-straight season.
 
Earning FAR recognition for the third-straight year are Kiah Jones (volleyball) and Cassie Ripley (soccer).
 
A trio of Wildcat freshman earned the award by finishing their first year of college with perfect 4.00 grade point averages.  These athletes are: Drew Wallen (football), Jayden Croft (football) and Laura Steiner (softball).
