SEATTLE, Wash (Feb. 6) – The Central Washington men's rugby team scored a combined 186-points in two matches against the University of Washington and Eastside Rugby Club, Saturday afternoon en route to two big wins for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats rebounded from a tough opening match two weeks ago in San Francisco, and move to a 2-1 overall record, early this season.

The Wildcats earned a 76-5 win in the opening game of the double header versus the Huskies.

Caleb Huerta registered a hat-trick for the Wildcats in the opening match. He struck for a second time in the 14:20 mark of the first half. The Wildcats touched down five times in the first half to give the visitors a 33-7 lead heading in the the break.

"It was good for us to get outside and get a run," Head coach Tony Pacheco said. "We selected a young side to play the Huskies and it was great to see the youngsters get their first opportunity to wear Crimson and Black."

The youth movement for the Wildcats wouldn't let up in the second half as the team found seven more trys. Simi Ratukalou accounted for five two-point conversions and a lone try in the second half, he finished with seven conversions kicks on the day.

The Wildcats sprinted to the century mark against the Eastside Rugby Club, winning the second match of the day by a score of 110-7.

Vili Toluta'u got things rolling early for the Wildcats. The junior flanker scored twice in a three-minute period, crashing into the try zone at the 14:00 minute mark and again in the 17:30 mark. He would end the day with four trys.

The Wildcat offense saw 11 different players record a try versus Eastside. Dominic Lindstrom, Clint Lemkus and Tresten Keys each scored a pair of trys on the day. Scott Dean nailed 10 two-point conversion kicks and scored a one try to end his day.

"I believe the score line flattered us in the end," Pacheco said. "We've got several areas we must improve on going forward."

The Wildcats will put those changes on the line next weekend when the team travels to Burien, WA to take on Valley Rugby Club. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start.
