LACEY, Wash. -- The Central Washington University softball team defeated Saint Martin's University 5-4, eliminating the Saints from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament and extending trip to Lacey, Wash.

With the win in the loser out game, the Wildcats will face Western Oregon at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to the GNAC Championship tomorrow at noon. The loser of the game will be eliminated from title contention.

Kailyn Campbell went 3 for 3 with three RBI and a pair of doubles.Â
Celine Fowler set the table for Campbell, going 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

The Wildcats got started early with a leadoff single by
Celine Fowler, who advanced home on a double by
Kailyn Campbell to put CWU up 1-0 in the first.

The Wildcats added one more in the third on a two-out single by
Taylor Ferleman, plating the pinch-running
Shyne McKay from second base.

Up 2-0, the Wildcats added to their lead in the fourth, scoring three runs on three hits, with Fowler picking up a run scoring single, followed by a two-RBI double by Campbell to push the CWU advantage to 5-0.

The Saint's made things interesting in the seventh inning, scoring three runs in the frame and had the go ahead run on base before CWU starter
Kayla Ellis induced back-to-back fielder's choices to end the SMU threat and help the Wildcats advance to the next round of the tournament.
