DAVIS, Calif. (Jan. 5) – The Central Washington University men's rugby team fell in its 2018 XV's season opener, 28-14, to the University of California Davis.
Jack Wendling and
Ivan Pula found their way into the try zone and
Nick Siemens and
Ian Wright added conversions.
"Firstly, congratulations to the 10 student-athletes who made their debut for the Wildcats tonight," CWU Head Coach
Todd Thornley said afterward. "We got a kick in the mouth from a more committed UC Davis side and we did not respond the right way in order to get the win. Full credit to them as they simply wanted it more and deserved the win."
The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday (Jan. 6) to take on national champion St. Mary's at 1:00 p.m. A live stream of the fixture is available
