HERMISTON, Ore.- The Central Washington University track and field team recorded 42 top-five finishes, # event titles, and two provisional qualifying marks at the EOU Team Challenge Saturday afternoon.

"We sent a smaller group, but this meet went pretty well," CWU head coach
Kevin Adkisson said. "We had some solid performances, event winners, and some of our first provisional qualifying marks. It was certainly a strong performance to open up the season. I am looking forward to resting next week and continuing to train."

Women
- Ali Anderson recorded a provisional qualifying and personal best time of 1:00.95 in the 400-meter hurdles to win the event. Katie Collins (2nd, 1:04.04) and Sidney Trinidad (3rd, 1:05.23) also performed well for the Wildcats.
- The pole vault featured Halle Irvine clearing a provisional qualifying height of 3.66 meters to come away with the win. Kayla Wyatt placed second (3.20m) and Brittany Stevens finished fifth (2.75m).
- Troi Carter placed first in the 100-meter in 12.63 seconds, followed by Alexia Thomas in second (12.83 seconds). The both returned to compete in the 200-meter, earning third and fourth, respectively.
- Jasmyne Neria won the 400 after recording a time of 59.35 seconds. Julia Inderbitzin claimed second in 1:01.96.
- In the 1,500-meter, Miranda Nelson (3rd, 5:13.24) and Brenna Carlson (4th, 5:16.64) competed.
- Emily Lewis finished fourth in the 5k with a time of 20:27.53.
- Highlighting the 100-meter hurdles was the first-place finish by Sidney Trinidad in 14.94 seconds. HarLee Ortega earned third in 15.57 seconds.
- Kiersten Kimminau represented the Wildcats in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing second in 12:44.61.
- Central Washington captured first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:13.16.
- Shaddia Meadows (2nd, 1.55m) and Katie Collins (3rd, 1.50m) competed in the high jump.
- Rose Walts claimed second in the triple jump after leaping a distance of 11.03 meters.
- In the javelin, Sayana Lombard-Chappell threw for a distance of 36.95 meters for fifth.

Men
- Bobby Widmar won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.93 seconds. Harry Horwath and Nick Bullo finished third and fourth, respectively.
- Widmar returned to place fifth in the 200-meter with a time of 22.76 seconds.
- In the 400-meter sprint, Doc Porter claimed second in 49.65 seconds and Daniel Calderon placed third in 49.94 seconds.
- Ronald Leaf earned third in the 800-meter with a time of 2:04.50.
- The 5k featured Corbin Carlton finishing second in 15:22.
- Braydon Maier placed third in the pole vault (4.45m) and 110-meter hurdles (15.36 seconds).
- The 4x400-meter relay team comprised of Nick Bullo, Doc Porter, Kodiak Landis, and Daniel Calderon won the event in 3:18.31.
- Ethan Tonder won the shot put after throwing a distance of 14.61 meters. Alberto Tafoya also competed, finishing fifth in the shot put (13.39m) and discus (40.92m).
- Jermey Bade won the high jump after clearing a height of 1.92 meters, followed by Justin Peterson in third (1.87m).
- Tyree Rutter threw 54.35 meters in the javelin to finish second.
- Justin Wendling claimed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.26.

The Wildcats will compete next Saturday (March 24) at the Doris Heritage Distance Carnival.
