The 2018 Central Washington University Commencement Ceremonies will take place this weekend and CWU Athletics is proud to announce that 92 of its student-athletes will receive their much-deserved diplomas.
The year's graduating class features a talented group of individuals that includes a dozen all-Americans. The 12 graduating all-Americans are:
Kevin Haynes (Football)
Kyle Self (Football)
Bo Banner (Football)
Nicholas Aumua (Football)
Scott Dean (Men's Rugby)
Vili Toluta'u (Men's Rugby)
Jeremy Lenaerts (Men's Rugby)
Sabrina Wheelhouse (Volleyball)
Asinate Serevi (Women's Rugby)
Cassidy Meyers (Women's Rugby)
Jenny Johnson (Women's Rugby)
Ali Anderson (Track and Field)
Thirty-six of the graduating athletes have also been named All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference performers at least once, including four GNAC Specialty Awards winners - Haynes, Banner, Wheelhouse, and
Joseph Stroud (MBB). The class also includes GNAC Champions
Ali Anderson and
Armando Tafoya of Track and Field.
Drew Wallen (football) leads the graduating group with a 3.95 grade point average, and all the 92 athlete's combined GPA stands at 3.19.
There are now three CWU Commencement ceremonies in Ellensburg, the first on Friday, June 8
th at 6 p.m. for Master's and Education Specialist in Nicholson Pavilion. The final two occur Saturday, June 9
th. The morning ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. inside Tomlinson Stadium for the College of Education/Professional Studies as well as the College of Business. The second ceremony for the College of Arts and Humanities, and the College of Sciences will start at 2 p.m.
