"We have had some outstanding practices since returning from Las Vegas and St. George," CWU head coach
Mike Larabee said. "We have worked really hard on the areas where we struggled in our first 8 games and the entire team and coaching staff are excited to get back on the field to play some great competition. I feel very confident that we will perform at a very high level this Friday through Sunday."
LAST TIME OUT
The CWU softball team competed in the Dixie State Courtyard Classic in St. George, Utah last weekend, as the team went 3-2.
The Wildcat offense came out swinging in their first game against MSU Denver as the team went on to win 9-0.
Sydney Brown was the star, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and four runs batted in.
The Wildcats outlasted Hawaii Pacific 8-7 in game two. In the bottom of the sixth,
Alycia Bannan smacked a fly ball to centerfield that turned into the game winning sacrifice fly.
In game three, the Wildcats enjoyed more early offensive success against Fort Lewis College.
Maddy Zerr hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first. In the fourth inning,
Savannah Egbert came up clutch and ripped a two-run single up the middle. The Wildcats took the game 8-5. The Wildcats were shut out 6-0 by Colorado Mesa in game four.
In the final game, Cal State East Bay smashed four home runs, proving to be too much for the Wildcats to overcome. They fell 8-4.
