The 8
th Annual Wildcat Alumni Challenge is underway and runs from October 11 through November 30. The Wildcat Alumni Challenge is a friendly fundraising competition between all CWU sports programs. Current Wildcat student-athletes and coaches from each sport call upon their alumni to contribute, and there are additional prizes for the top performing sports.
Â
Since 2014, the Wildcat Alumni Challenge has made a major impact on the student-athlete experience. Through the generosity of alumni, the challenge has raised more than $300,000 for Wildcat Athletics. In 2020, the challenge exceeded its financial goal of $75,000 and had a record turnout by former student-athletes, but fell just short of the goal of 500 former student-athletes participants (only by 37 participants).
Â
Any former CWU student-athlete can participate by making a minimum gift of $25 to the Wildcat Athletic Association, which is required to count toward each sport's participation total, and any gift amount above the initial $25 can be directed toward the sports team of their choice.
Â
The highest percentage of participation from alumni receives an additional $5,000 thanks to a generous donor. The highest number of alumni donors receives an additional $2,500 thanks to the generosity of Dave Coffman. The most funds raised overall receives an additional $2,500 thanks to the generosity of Andrew Graham and Zac Scott.
