MOSCOW, Idaho—Trevor Allen took top honors in the mile run, Erica Cabanos won the triple jump, and Juliette Williams tied the school record in the 60-meter dash to lead Central Washington in the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open, Saturday at the University of Idaho.
 
Overall, the Wildcats enjoyed a total of nine Top 3 finishes on Saturday.
 
"Not a bad day for us," said CWU head coach Kevin Adkisson. "We faced pretty solid competition overall in our firsy full squad event of the season."
 
Allen crossed the finish line in a time of 4:26.41, while Cabanos jumped 11.15 meters in the triple jump to top the field.
 
Williams, a newcomer for the Wildcats, was making her initial indoor appearance of the season and tied teammate Makenna Hansen's school record on 7.78 in the 60m.
 
"Juliette Williams, she was probably the big story of the day," Adkisson said. "She's running in her first meet with us, and she ties the school record. It was neat to see her do that."
 
Other standout performances included Aiden Wise finishing second in the 60m hurdles and helping guide the 4x400 meter relay team to a second-place finish. On the women's side, Makenna Hansen (200m), Meagan Smallbeck (weight throw) and the 4x400 meter relay team all recorded second-place results of their own.
 
"I was pleased to see people competing hard and putting in the work," Adkisson said. "This was one of those meets where a lot of people were competing in multiple events and that's going to pay off as we get closer to the conference meet. I'm looking forward to seeing continued growth over the next several weeks."
 
Austin Albertin (800m) and Kylie Griffin (high jump) each finished third in their respective events.
