ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Six different Wildcats scored a try as the #2 Central Washington University men's rugby team took down the cavalry and beat the #8 Army Black Nights 36-14 on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats improve to a 7-0 record with only three regular season matches remaining.

• "The scoreboard does not indicate how hard we had to work today. It was awesome to host a great program with a great crowd who got behind us and defiantly made an impact. I'm proud of the group but we still have a lot to improve with some great opponents ahead."

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The scoring for CWU started early as Mitchell Hirose intercepted an Army pass and took it the length of the field. Jac Tregoning nailed the conversion to give the Wildcats a 7-0 lead in the 2nd minute.
• Shortly after, Army responded with a try and conversion in the 9th minute.
• The 'Cats dominated the rest of the first half from that point on. In the 15th minute, Isaiah Saldana landed a try and only four minutes later, Calvin Liulamaga pushed the ball over the end line. The Wildcats led 17-7 in the 19th minute.
• Just before halftime, a Jonah Auvaa try with a Tregoning conversion extended the CWU lead to 24-7.
• Only four minutes into the second half, Army cut the Wildcat's lead to 24-14.
• In the 54th minute, Drew Farrington scored a try with a Tregoning conversion.
• Rhys Jones capped off the scoring in the 66th minute, and the team maintained the 36-14 lead for the remainder of regulation.
