ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The #5 Central Washington University Wildcats Men's Rugby team beat the #6 BYU Cougars Saturday afternoon by a final score of 21-12. The Wildcats would get all their points within the last 18 minutes of the second half, defensively shutting out the Cougars after halftime.

"Game of two halves, we held on and were able to find a way in the last 20 minutes. Our defense showed up again and effort is our currency in our performance. The win creates belief and we will put our head down this week and continue to try to improve our game on both sides of the ball. Bring on another great week of work together."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BYU got the scoring started with the first try in the contest by #6, the successful conversion would make it 7-0 Cougars.
- The Cougars would strike again at the 35:50 mark with a try by #3, the missed conversion would leave it at 12-0 BYU.
- The Wildcats would get their first try at the 63:15 mark when Tiai Vavao found a hole and broke free for the long try, the successful conversion would make it 7-12.
- The 'Cats would convert again 4 minutes later at the 67:40 mark, Malakai Tacbian would get the try on the far side of the pitch, Jac Tregoning would be successful on the conversion from deep to make it 14-12 CWU.
- Not quitting till the end, the Wildcats would add a last minute try by Charlie Platt at the 79:24 mark, the successful conversion would make it 21-12 CWU.

The Wildcats will stay at home for their third of seven consecutive home games when they host the #13 UCLA Bruins next Saturday with kickoff set for 12:00pm.
