#3 Central Washington Advances After Dominant Performance Against #6 BYU

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University men's rugby team put together a statement win on Saturday afternoon against #6 BYU. Led by Oscar Treacy's hat trick of tries, the 'Cats came out and dominated the opposition from the first whistle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the third minute, Oscar Treacy made a phenomenal individual run to get the Crimson and Black on the board, CWU 5, BYU 0.
  • In the sixth minute, BYU responded with a try of their own, followed by a successful conversion, CWU 5, BYU 7.
  • Treacy scored his second try of the game in the eighth minute to regain the lead for the 'Cats, followed by a Jac Tregoning conversion, CWU 12, BYU 7.
  • In the 13th minute, Arona Tauiliili made his mark as he made a phenomenal run to extend the lead for the Crimson and Black, followed by a Tregoning conversion, CWU 19, BYU 7.
  • The Cougars responded with a try of their own in the 22nd minute to bring them back into the game, CWU 19, BYU 12.
  • In the 27th minute, Charlie Platt scored a try for the 'Cats following a scrum, CWU 24, BYU 12.
  • Halftime: CWU 24, BYU 12
  • Two minutes after the break, Sam Dwyer made a fantastic run, scoring a try, followed by a Tregoning conversion, CWU 31, BYU 12.
  • In the 45th minute, Chris Grosse scored a try, extending the lead for the Wildcats, followed by a successful conversion, CWU 38, BYU 12.
  • In the 51st minute, Benji Ward scored a try following a team effort to push the ball past the try line, CWU 43, BYU 12.
  • In the 55th minute, the Wildcats extended their lead with another try, CWU 48, BYU 12.
  • In the 62nd minute, Treacy completed his hat trick of tries, following an exceptional individual run, CWU 53, BYU 12.
  • The Cougars responded in the 69th minute with a try from Vou Fitisemanu, followed by a successful conversion, CWU 53, BYU 19.
  • In the 72nd minute, Lilo Clark scored a try for BYU, followed by a successful conversion, CWU 53, BYU 26.
