Kurtz returned to the Wildcats’ staff in 2023. Kurtz was a Graduate Assistant Athletic trainer at CWU from 2014-2016.

He is the primary Athletic Trainer for football and softball.

During his time away from Central Washington, Kurtz was an Athletic Trainer at Regis Jesuit High School from 2016-2021, and the Athletic Trainer for Albuquerque High School from 2021-2023. While at Regis Jesuit, Kurtz covered all Boys’ Freshman, JV, and Varsity sports. At Albuquerque High, Kurtz covered all Boys’ and Girls’ Freshman, JV, and Varsity sports.

Kurtz is a Board Certified (BOC) Athletic Trainer. He is also a licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Washington.

Kurtz received his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Fort Lewis College in 2014. He went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Athletic Administration from CWU in 2016.

Kurtz resides in Ellensburg, WA, and is a native of Belen, New Mexico.
