2024-2025: During the 2024-25 indoor season, Alena improved slightly, reaching 3.00 m (~9' 10") at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis and 3.01 m (~9' 10.5") at the GNAC Indoor Championships. Her outdoor season included a personal best of 3.24 m (~10' 7.5") at the GNAC Outdoor Championships, along with 3.13 m (~10' 3") at the Whitworth Jeffrahn Classic and 2.95 m (~9' 8") at the Pee Wee Halsell Invitational.
2023-2024: Alena Ross began her collegiate career at Central Washington in the 2023-24 indoor season, clearing 2.85 m (~9' 4") at the Spokane Invitational and competing consistently in early-season meets. In her first outdoor season, she recorded 2.80 m (~9' 2") at both the John Knight Twilight and the PLU Open, and finished with a 2.92 m (~9' 7") vault at the GNAC Outdoor Championships.
Background: Alena Ross comes from Kalama High School where she was a perenial podium finisher at the Washington state meet. She finishes her high school career with a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the pole vault, as well as a 4th and 1st place finish as part of the 4x100 relay. She set a school record in pole vault as well as being a member of the school record 4x100 relay. In addition to her athletic achievement, she also graduated as a valedictorian and was on the President's list during the entirety of her time doing running start. Alena was a 4 year varsity athlete in both track and field and volleyball.

Why CWU? I was able to pursue both of my dreams to fly, and compete at Central.
