2024-2025: Charles began to train in the decathlon his sophomore year and achieved lifetime personal bests in several events. He scored his highest point total at the GNAC Outdoor combined events championships and qualified in the open pole vault as well making a collegiate best of 4.05m.
2023-2024: Charles finished his freshman campaign by qualifying to the GNAC Outdoor Championships and make his postseason debut in the open pole vault event.
Background: Charles Pieper comes to Ellensburg from Seton Catholic High School in Chandler Arizona. His senior year was a standout year for him, raising his personal best from 13' as  junior to 14'9 as a senior and winning the AIA Division III state title as well as setting the school record. Charles was a member of the Arizona Pole Vault Academy where he trained with Olympians and American National Championship Qualifiers. Charles aims to further improve at Central Washington University and explore his potential as a decathlete specializing in pole vault.

Why CWU? I was always interested it going out-of-state for college and I was looking for schools where I could potentially do track in California, Oregon or Washington. I reached out to some coaches and secured a roster spot on Central and it was a no-brainer after I toured it.
Personal: Parents are Brian and Christina Pieper, older sister Miranda Pieper. My birthday is 09/09/2004. Pet African sulcata tortoise named Chloe who is 18.
