Biography
2024-2025: Sophomore year, Chase started off his outdoor season strong with a huge PR in the 1500m run at the CWU Wildcat Opener and a second place finish in the 800m run. Staying consistent throughout the season in both runs, Chase qualified for the Outdoor GNAC Championships in the 800m. During the Championship meet, he had another PR in the 800m run with a time of 1:53.56, placing eighth overall. His PR makes him ninth in the 800m run all-time list.
2023-2024: Chase started his Wildcat career in the fall with cross country, where he competed at the GNAC Championship as well as the NCAA Regional meet. After finishing up his cross season with a PR, he competed in the 800m, 1500m, and the 4x400m relay. At the CWU Wildcat Invitational, Chase placed fifth in the 800m, running his personal best of 1:55.13. He was a dual event qualifier for the Outdoor GNAC Championships, in the 800m run and the 4x400m relay where Chase and his relay team placed fourth.
Background: Following in his father and sister's footsteps, Chase Perez started at CWU in 2023. He went to Ellensburg High School, where he ran both cross country and track and field. As a freshman and sophomore in high school, Chase made the state team for cross country. His junior and senior years he traveled with the track and field state team as well.
