Ben Malquist Arrived at Central Washington in 2022 to serve as the throws coach, covering the shot put, hammer throw, discus, and weight throw.
Malquist comes to the Wildcats after competing in the shot put, discus, hammer throw, and weight throw for the Western Washington University Vikings from 2018-2022.
Malquist is a a two-time GNAC outdoor shot put champion in 2021 & 2022, throwing a best of 16.76m (55'0") Good for third best in WWU outdoor history. In his time as an athlete for the Vikings he posted bests of 45.54m (149'5") in the discus, 42.01m (137'10") in the hammer throw, and 13.96m (45'9.75") in the weight throw.
