2023-2024: Ellie's sophmore indoor season began with PR's in the 60m hurdles and shot put, along with a seventh place finish at the 2024 Lauren McCluskey Memorial meet. She concluded her indoor season as the GNAC Indoor Champion of the pentathlon, with three PR's during the meet. These PR's included her overall pentathlon score (3332), the 60m hurdles (8.87), and the 800m dash (2:22.94). Her time of 8.87s makes her fifth on the all-time list in indoor. She also competed in the 60m hurdles as an individual even for a seventh place finish, and the 4x400m relay for another first place finish. Continuing this into outdoor season, Ellie finished first at the 2024 PLU Open in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. She then went on to PR in the heptathlon at the Bobcat Invitational & Multi placing eighth with an overall score of 4881. At the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Championships, Ellie placed second in the 400m hurdles, fourth in the 100m hurdles, and eighth in the heptathlon. Ellie is ranked fifth on the indoor all-time list with her score in the pentathlon and ranked second on the outdoor all-time list in the hepthathlon. 
2022-2023: Starting off her indoor collegiate career at CWU, Ellie competed in her first pentathlon for a tenth place finish at the 2023 Lauren McCluskey Memorial Meet. Following this was a third place finish in the pentathlon at the Whitworth Invitational, and a fifth place finish at the GNAC Indoor Championships. Ellie also competed in the 60m hurdles, high jump, and long jump as individual events. Continuing her multi pursuit into outdoor season, Ellie competed in the heptathlon for a tenth place finish at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational. She also placed third in the 100m hurdles and second in the 4x400m relay at the CWU Wildcat Open. To conclude the season, Ellie finished fifth in the heptathlon and second with her 4x400m relay team at the GNAC Outdoor Championships. 
Background: Ellie Degroot joined the Wildcats in 2022. During her senior season, Ellie dominated the hurdles with two PR's for a 2A State Champion title in both the 100m and 300m hurdles. As the anchor leg for her 4x400m relay team, Ellie helped them to finish third at the 2A WCD III Championships and tenth at the WIAA State Championship. Following her State performance, she placed ninth at the 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 100m hurdles and ran a PR in the 400m hurdles.
