Biography

2024-2025: Emem picked up right where she left off for her sophomore season, starting out her indoor season with a 2nd place finish in the high jump, a 5th place finish in the 4x400m relay, and a 6th place finish in the 60m hurdles in the first meet. She went on to place 3rd at the UW Invite in the long jump with a National Qualifying Mark of 5.72m. Following this was another National Qualifying Mark in the triple jump with a jump pf 12.83m during the Riverfront Multi's meet, placing 3rd in the meet. Emem was a four-event Indoor GNAC Championship qualifier, in the 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, and triple jump. She placed 1st in the triple jump with a jump 12.30m and 1st in the long jump with a jump of 5.87m, improving on her National Qualifying Mark and making her first on the Indoor All-Time List. She also placed 3rd in the high jump and 5th in the 60m hurdles, with a prelim time of 9.03. After Indoor GNAC's, Emem competed at the NCAA Indoor National's meet in the high jump and triple jump. She placed 6th in the high jump with a jump of 1.78m, not only jumping a new personal record but also breaking the school record and becoming first on the All-Time List. In triple jump, Emem jumped 13.00m to take home the National Title and become first on the CWU All-Time List. Her first outdoor meet following Nationals was the Bobcat Invitational, where she competed in the 100m hurdles, triple jump, high jump, and long jump. Emem ran her current PR in the 100m hurdles of 14.82, putting her as number 10 on the All-Time List and jumped her current long jump PR of 5.91m, earning her another number one spot on the All-Time List. She placed 2nd in both the triple jump (13.26m) and high jump (1.79m), improving on both indoor marks from Nationals and hitting Outdoor National Qualifying Marks. Through the rest of the season, Emem continued to dominate in the jumps including two 1st place finishes at the CWU Wildcat Invitational in the triple and high jump. Emem qualified in four events for the Outdoor GNAC Championships, including all three jumps and the heptathlon, and took home the title in each one. During her heptathlon, she had four combined event personal records and amassed 4768 points for a PR overall moving herself up to number 4 All-Time. She went on to jump just under her PR's at the time in high (1.73m), triple (12.54m), and long jump (5.88m) to take home those titles as well. Scoring 40 points total for the Wildcats, Emem was awarded the GNAC High Scorer of the Meet, as well as Field Athlete of the Meet and the GNAC Field Athlete of the Year. She was not done at GNAC's, and went on to compete in the triple and high jump at the NCAA National Meet. Emem jumped new personal records in both events, jumping 1.82m in high jump and 13.33m in triple jump- winning another two National Titles and improving on her own school records. With her Nationals performance during both her indoor and outdoor seasons, Emem was awarded the NCAA Field Athlete of the Year. 
2023-2024: As a freshman, Emem came in ready to compete. In her first indoor meet she won the high jump with a new personal record of 1.74m. Emem ran the 60m hurdles and competed in both the long and triple jump for the first time. She came in third in both the high and triple jumps at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial meet, she jumped a National Qualifying Mark of 11.79m which was her first time competing in the triple jump. At the Indoor GNAC Championships, Emem qualified and competed in all three jumps. She placed 1st in the high jump, 1st in the triple jump, and 2nd in the long jump. If two titles weren't enough, Emem jumped National Qualifying Marks in the high jump (1.79m) and added to her triple jump qualifying mark (12.30m). Her first NCAA National's appearance was in triple and high jump, where she was a 2nd Team All-American in the high jump. Going into outdoor season, Emem finished 2nd in the high jump and 3rd in the long jump at the Oregon Preview meet. She made appearances in the 100 meter hurdles, the 4x100 meter relay, the 200 meter dash, and the heptathlon throughout her season. At the Wildcat Invitational she placed 1st in the triple jump, 2nd in the high jump, and competed in the 200m dash and the 100m hurdles. Emem competed in the heptathlon for the first time during Outdoor GNAC Championships, and ended up placing 4th in the conference. During the multi competition, she jumped a National Qualifying Mark in the high jump (1.72m). She was a four time Outdoor GNAC qualifier in the 100m hurdles, triple jump, high jump, and long jump. In triple jump Emem placed 1st with a National Provisional Mark of 12.32m, 2nd in the long jump, and 5th in the high jump. She went on to compete in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor National meet. 
Background:Emy brings her talents to Ellensburg from Skyview High School in Vancouver. During her senior year she was a 4 event scorer at the state championship meet. She took 2nd place in the high jump with a personal best jump of 5'6. She was a member of the Skyview 4x400m squad as well as qualifying to the finals in both the 300 and 100 hurdles. She placed 4th in the 300 hurdles and 6th in the 100 hurdles. She currently holds the Skyview school record in high jump. She was an honors graduate at Skyview and brings excellence in athletics and academics to the Central Washington Wildcats.
