2024-2025: Kamila entered onto the scene at Central Washington as one of the top freshman throwers in school history. She finished her first indoor season as the GNAC bronze medalist in the shot put and her 12.85 m toss made her the 10th best indoor shot putter on the CWU All-Time list. In the same meet, Kamila took home an 8th place finish in the women’s weight throw. Her personal best of 14.62 m in the event coming earlier in the season at the Nevada Invitational. Kamila also finished in 9th place at the GNAC Outdoor Championships and qualified in a deep hammer field with a seasons best toss of 43.71 m at the WWU Ralph Vernacchia Invite.
Background: Kamila Salanoa joins the 2024 recruiting class from Clover park High School in Lakewood, Washington. She was a four year letter winner in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. Kamila was a two time state qualifier and 2023 league champion in the discus. She was the 2023 state champion in the shot put and was the 3rd place finisher in 2024.
