Biography
2024-2025: Lauryn's indoor season included back to back wins at the Riverfront Invitational and the GNAC Indoor Championships where she increased her school record to 4.08m. She once again qualified for the NCAA DII National Championship where she placed 16th. Her outdoor season began with a win at the Whitworth Peace Meet and a 2nd place finish at the Bobcat Relays at Texas State with an outdoor record of 4.05m. At the GNAC Championship she won both the javelin and pole vault while setting a new personal best in the javelin of 43.92m. She qualified for the NCAA DII National Championship for a 4th time in the pole vault and had her best finish of 10th place, earning another All-American award.
2023-2024: Lauryn set a new school record at 4.05m indoors at the Spokane Indoor Challenge, only her 2nd meet in college. She would follow that performance up with a GNAC Indoor title and qualified for NCAA DII Nationals, but withdrew due to an injury. Outdoors, Lauryn was once again a DII National Qualifier, where she placed 11th, earning her first All-American honors. She also set her season best javelin throw of 40.16m at the outdoor GNAC championship where she placed 4th.
Background: Lauryn McGough joins the CWU track and field program from Willapa Valley High School in Menlo, WA. Lauryn was undefeated at the WA 1B state championship in both pole vault and javelin during her high school career, winning both events in 2022 and 2023. Her high school PR's of 3.73m (12'3") in the pole vault and 41.07m (134'9") in the javelin were 1st and 2nd in school history all time. Lauryn will be studying Exercise Science while at CWU.

Achievements: academic honor roll all four years of high school, apart of honors society all four years of high school as well as being on student council, state champion junior and senior year for both polevault and javelin. Broke 1b state polevault record senior year at track state (12'3ft), 2024 indoor Gnac conference champion in pole vault (4.05m), qualified for indoor ncaa d2 nationals for polevault (freshman year), second team all american outdoor ncaa national championships for polevault (freshman 2024 outdoor season)
Why CWU? I chose Central because of the community and family-like environment. From the moment I stepped on campus I fell in love with the school and community. It is closer to home and I feel very secure and safe here.
Personal? Parents are Ron and Sheila McGough. Older sister Katelyn McGough. birthday is May 11, 2005.
