Background:Layla Fields joins the Wildcat Track and Field team from West Valley High School in Fairbanks, Alaska.  Fields served as a captain on the Wolfpack Volleyball and Track and Field teams and was a dual event qualifier for the ASAA Division 1 State Championship all four years of high school. As a freshman, Layla qualified for the Alaska State Meet in the 200m and finished 8th in the 100m. She scored in both events in 2023 as a sophomore finishing 4th in the 200m and 5th in the 100m. In 2024 Layla finished as the State Runner Up in the 100m and finished 5th in the 200m. Layla burst onto the national stage in her senior season anchoring the 2nd place team in the Nike Outdoor National meet 4x100m final. She also finished 4th in both the 100m and 200m at the 2025 ASAA Division 1 State Meet. She is coming to Central with the intention of majoring in Exercise Science to become a Physical Therapist.
