Central Washington University Athletics

Background: Maliyah Gordon returns to Central Washington from Spokane Falls Community College where she competed for her first two seasons of Collegiate Eligibility. She is the SFCC Indoor Weight Throw School Record Holder and the 2025 Northwest Athletic Conference Outstanding Field Athlete. She was the 2025 NWAC Champion in the Hammer Throw, Silver Medalist in the Shot Put, and Bronze Medalist in the Discus, contributing 24 points to the Sasquatch Team Conference Championship. In her freshman season, Maliyah finished 6th in the NWAC shot put, 7th in discus, and 9th in the hammer.  A native of Yakima, WA and East Valley High School, Maliyah was a multi-sport athlete who also lettered in volleyball and basketball, finishing 4th at the 2019 WIAA State Basketball Championship. Her aunt is a proud CWU Alumni and serves as her academic inspiration. She will be pursuing a clinical exercise physiology degree with the aspiration to become a physical therapist.
