Biography

2024-2025: Ready for another three-season year, Max ran cross country in the fall and joined the indoor roster in January. He finished out his cross country season on both the GNAC Cross Country Championship and the NCAA DII Regional rosters. Max helped the men's team to place 5th at GNAC's and 8th at Regionals. He ran the 800m and the 4x400m relay, qualifying in both events for Indoor GNAC Championships. He helped his relay team to place 5th in conference while running the second leg, and placed 6th in the 800m after being seeded eighth out of prelims. During outdoor Max ran the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m. He had a PR in the 1500m at the Whitworth Jefferahn Classic of 3:55.25, making him #10 on the All-Time list. Max qualified for the Outdoor GNAC Championships in the 800m and the 1500m, and he placed 8th in the 800. 
2023-2024: As a freshman, Max Hutton ran with the cross country team for both the GNAC Cross Country Championships and the NCAA DII Regional Championships. After cross country season, Max joined the Wildcat track roster for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. During indoor, Max ran the 400m, 800m, mile, and the 4x400m relay. He was a dual-event qualifier for the Indoor GNAC Championships in the 800m and the 4x400m relay. Max placed 5th in the 800m and ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay that placed 6th. He had a PR in the 800m during championships of 1:54.31, making him #2 All-Time in the Indoor 800m. After his appearance at Championships, Max proceeded to run the 800m, 1500m, 5000m, and the 4x400m relay in outdoor. Max was a dual-event qualifier for Outdoor GNAC Championships as well, in the 800m and the 4x400m relay. Running the third leg of the relay, Max helped them to place 4th. He ran a PR of 1:51.35 in the 800m, earning himself a 4th place finish in the meet and making him #4 on the All-Time list. 
Background: Max Hutton joins the Wildcat program from West Valley High School in Yakima, WA. He ran both track and cross country for his high school, where he was a cross country team captain and was voted most improved and most inspirational by his track team. Max helped his cross country team to place 3rd at state, and placed 12th individually. He was the 800m 4A State Champion in 2023, and currently holds his high school record in the 800m with a run of 1:53.42.
