Andrew Petko, previously the Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Business Operations at Minot State University in Minot, ND, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of Athletics. In this new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the $60.5M renovation project for the Nicholson Pavilion, Fieldhouse, and Purser Hall, which includes directing the expansion, modernization, and renovation of the Nicholson Pavilion Arena as well as overseeing the construction of new classrooms and meeting spaces in Purser Hall.Â
During his tenure at Minot State, Petko managed both the internal and external operations of the athletic department, including human resources, financial, marketing, enrollment, camps, and was the Chief Financial Officer for Athletics on top of being the Title IX Investigator/Advisor for the University. He also secured game day sponsorships for home basketball and wrestling events and halftime performances for basketball games as the main point of contact for marketing. Under his leadership, Minot State added several sports as well as increased revenue and enrollment. In return Minot State was successfully awarded the bid to host the 2024 Super Regional Wrestling Tournament.Â
Before joining Minot State, Petko worked at Loyola Marymount University as the Director of Business Affairs, where he secured trade agreements with corporate partners such as Muscle Milk, Aspire Ticketing, Van Wagner, Nike, and Adidas. He also increased summer camp revenue by adding new camps and streamlining department-wide contracts. Petko began his career in college administration after serving as a volunteer Men's Ice Hockey assistant coach at Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY.Â
Petko earned his bachelor's degree in communication from the University at Buffalo and his master's in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania. He is married to Stacy and has two daughters, Blair, and Scarlett.Â
