Sophomore Mariyah Vongsaveng was crowned the 100-meter hurdles champion at the 2017 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships last Saturday with a time of 13.90 seconds. Vongsaveng’s time not only surpassed her previous CWU school record, but also broke the McArthur Field record on the campus of Western Oregon University. Mariyah now anxiously waits to see if she has qualified for 2017 NCAA Championships in Bradenton, Florida.
