Seven CWU Women's Soccer Players Named to GNAC Academic All-Conference Team

Three Wildcat Seniors Earn Third Straight Academic All-Conference Honors

SPOKANE (Nov. 3) -- Seven Central Washington University women's soccer players were named to the 2010 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference team announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Seniors Ellie Eckroth (Auburn/Auburn Mountainview HS), Kaycie Hutchins (Port Orchard/Bellarmine Prep), and Annie Weisbeck (Spokane/Central Valley HS) have all received GNAC All-Academic honors for the third straight year.

Eckroth, Weisbeck, and Hutchins are all exercise science majors with GPAs of 3.56, 3.52, and 3.49 respectively.

Joining them is fellow senior Amanda Biggs (Carnation/Cedarcrest HS), juniors Hillary Franks (Yakima/West Valley HS) and Brittany Franks (Yakima/West Valley HS) and sophomore Carson McKole (Oak Harbor). Biggs is majoring in fashion merchandising and carries a 3.27 GPA. Hillary Franks is majoring in physical education and school health and has a 3.42 GPA, while sister Brittany Franks is majoring in special education with a 3.39 GPA. McKole has a 3.24 GPA and has yet to choose a major.

To qualify and be named to the Academic All-Conference teams, student athletes must be a current letterwinner in at least her second year of competition at her university, and must have a GPA of 3.20 or higher.

The Wildcats finish their season this Saturday Nov. 6 on the road against Seattle Pacific.
