ARCATA, Calif. (Sept. 2) -- Senior Meg Ryan (Spokane/Mead HS) and junior Jordan Offutt (Leavenworth/Cascade HS) combined for 32 kills and Ryan hit at a .545 percentage without an error as the Central Washington University volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 18-25, 25-13, 25-17, 26-24 victory over Academy of Art University on Friday afternoon at the HSU Invitational.

The Wildcats remain undefeated in three all-time meetings with the Urban Knights (0-1), having defeated the Pacific West Conference member in non-conference tournaments previously during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Ryan, who had established a new career-high for kills with 18 in Thursday night's season-opening win over tournament host Humboldt State, matched that total in Friday's win over AAU. Offutt, meanwhile, had a career-high 14 kills against the Urban Knights, helping the Wildcats rack up 51 kills and a .276 hitting percentage.
