ELLENSBURG (Jan. 4) -- The men's basketball game featuring archrivals Central Washington University and Western Washington University, scheduled for next Thursday, Jan. 10, in Bellingham, will be televised regionally on ROOT Sports.
The game, originally slated for a 7 p.m. tip-off from Carver Gymnasium on the WWU campus, will now start at 9:10 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast. Handling play-by-play duties for ROOT will be Rich Burk, while Bill Krueger is the color commentator for the broadcast.
The contest, which will be the 246th all-time men's basketball meeting between the two schools, will be televised regionally for the fourth consecutive year. CWU leads the all-time series, 153-92.
CWU enters its game Saturday against the University of Alaska Anchorage with a 7-4 overall record, while Western Washington University is currently ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II and is 11-0 overall.
Based in Bellevue, Wash., the ROOT Sports network serves more than 3.7 million cable and satellite viewers in five Northwest states.
