CWU Volleyball to Host Annual Match for Breast Cancer Awareness Saturday

Wildcats to Wear Pink versus Northwest Nazarene

ELLENSBURG (Oct. 16) -- As part of ongoing efforts through the month of October, and as part of annual tradition, the Central Washington University volleyball team will be wearing pink this Saturday, Oct. 19, when the Wildcats host Northwest Nazarene University at Nicholson Pavilion.

The promotion of the color pink is being done in an effort to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. CWU has made wearing pink uniforms for a selected home match in the month of October a tradition since the mid-2000s, oftentimes teaming up with Kittitas Valley Healthcase Hospital and other local businesses to join in the nationwide cause of promoting Breast Cancer Awareness.

This Saturday, when the Wildcats (8-8, 4-4 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) host NNU (10-4, 6-2 GNAC), CWU will be teaming up with the Palace Cafe to provide complimentary t-shirts to the first 100 admitted to the game. Additional prizes will be awarded to raffle ticket winners as well, and fans are encouraged to come dressed in pink attire to help show their support for the cause.

Tickets to Saturday's match between the Wildcats and Crusaders can be purchased in advance through Wildcat Tickets (click here) or at the door. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors (65 and older), emeritus faculty, and non-CWU students (kindergarten and older).
