The Wildcats went on a 10-0 run early in the first half capped by a three-pointer made by
JESSICA VANDYKE (Chester, MT) to give CWU a 22-14 advantage. Central Washington led by as many as 10 points in the opening half, and led 41-37 going into intermission.
The Seawolves opened the second half on a 17-3 run to take a 54-44 lead with 13:42 left in regulation. Alaska Anchorage led by as many as 14 points in the second half, but a late run by the Wildcats cut the Seawolves lead to just four points with 1:10 minutes remaining. Unfortunately, CWU couldn't get any closer as UAA walked away with the final 77-70 victory.
Also scoring in double-figures for the Wildcats was VanDyke with 11 points followed by
AMBER MOSER (Willimina, OR) who had 10.
Four UAA players scored in double-figures led by Jessica Madison who scored 15 points.
Up next, the women's basketball team heads to Fairbanks to play the University of Alaska this Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
