ELLENSBURG, Wash (Oct. 17)—Fresh off of their 88-0 victory last Saturday versus the Huskies, the Central Washington University Women's Rugby team is ready for the next challenge.
The team will travel to Corvallis, to the campus of Oregon State University, for the OSU 7's qualifier.
"We spent the week focusing on 7's, and really getting back to the foundation we set in the spring," Head Coach
Mel Denham said.
The Wildcats first three games will be against the University of California, Washington State University, and host-school Oregon State University, beginning at 12 p.m. The Wildcats have the potential to play five games Saturday depending on their success in pool play, followed by a knockout round.
"It's hard to say," Denham said of tournament expectations. "It's hard to know with 7's. You just put good athletes on the field, and play good rugby, and watch what happens. I'm expecting to play hard, and live up to the challenge."
The winner of this tournament will advance to the USA Rugby National Championships in May.
