Wildcats Conclude Regular Season with 55-22 Setback at UBC

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Central Washington University Women's Rugby Team (3-4) had a valiant effort on the road at the Canadian USPORTS National Champions in the UBC Thunderbirds (10-1) but fell by a 55-22 score Saturday afternoon.

"We knew when we scheduled the Canadian National Champions, it would be a massive challenge," CWU Head Women's Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. "UBC lived up to it. We didn't execute our defensive roles early on, missed too many tackles, and it was a tough hole to climb out of. When we got settled into the match, we found space and were able to take advantage, but it was too late in the game. Quality learnings we need before we head into playoffs this next week."
