Women's Basketball Loses Exhibition Game to Division I Seattle University 64-51

SEATTLE, Wash. (Nov. 1) – The Central Washington University played its first of two exhibition matchups to start the 2014-15 season, losing to Seattle University 64-51 Saturday afternoon.
 
The Redhawks, who compete in the NCAA Division I Western Athletic Conference, held just a 29-26 lead over the Wildcats at the half.
 
The scrappy Wildcats kept things close before Seattle pulled away in the second-half.  Jasmine Parker led the Wildcats with 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks.  Senior forward Courtney Johnson had a team-high seven rebounds, scoring five points, all of which came from the charity stripe.
 
Central Washington struggled to score from the field, connecting on just 15 of its 51 shots (29%) from the field.  Alexis Berrysmith made three of her four shots in the game totaling seven points and three rebounds.
 
The Redhawks shot 45 percent from the field and were led by Wilma Afunugo who scored a game-high 20 points.
 
Up next the Wildcat will play one more exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the University of Idaho.
