Game notes
ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Nov. 27) — Walla Walla University will invade Nicholson Pavilion to face the Central Washington University men's basketball team on Saturday, Nov. 29. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
This will be the sixth consecutive year that the Wolves have come to Ellensburg to face Central. Walla Walla is still seeking its first victory in the series.
"I think they'll will try to make it an up-and-down game, and get us to put up quick shots and play a little out of control," said CWU head coach
Greg Sparling. "We want to play fast but with enough patience that we turn shots into good shots, and good shots into great shots. That will be one of our goals in the game."
Saturday's contest is the first of six straight games that the Wildcats will play at home through Jan. 3. Those games will include the inaugural Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) games of the season on Dec. 4, against Montana State University Billings, and Dec. 6, versus Seattle Pacific University.
The Wildcats are looking to rebound from two losses at the GNAC/PacWest Challenge last weekend in Laie, Hawaii.
"Preseason games are important and we need to continue to get better in every one of them," Sparling added. " We've learned that we need to take better care of the basketball and in rebounding. So we need to do a better job in both those areas on Saturday."
