ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Aug. 20) – The 2014 Central Washington University volleyball team has been voted to finish fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference according to the preseason coaches poll released by the conference office this morning.
The Wildcats finished in fourth place a year ago when they earned a selection into the NCAA Tournament.
"The fourth place prediction changes nothing for us," Said CWU Head Coach
Mario Andaya. "We are still focused on improving day by day and if we can do that we will be in a great position to give ourselves the opportunity to be the best team we can be."
Central Washington finished with 53 total voting points out of a possible 88 points. Western Washington topped the list with 80 points and eight first place votes. Alaska Anchorage and Northwest Nazarene came in second and third with 70 and 69 points respectively, each earning one first place vote.
Coaches from each of the 10 GNAC schools voted on the preseason poll and were not allowed to give their own team a first place vote.
