ELLENSBURG, Wash (Oct. 25) – The Central Washington University women's rugby team concluded its winning weekend with a 119-0 win over Western Washington University Sunday afternoon.
"Depth is a key component of top-level teams," Denham said of today's match. "Getting developmental games and making sure everyone is playing in meaningful matches is how we will succeed as a team long term."
Although key players weren't seeing action in today's match, the Wildcat offense was clicking on all cylinders as the team manufactured 17 trys. The barrage of points started early and continued all afternoon.
Paige Wyatt got the Wildcats on the board in the third minute. Wyatt found a corner down the left wing and scampered 40-meters on her way to the first five points on the match.
Katerina Long would add three more points with a penalty kick in the seventh minute to increase the Wildcat lead to 8-0. Long's foot accounted for 34 points during the match. She would knock home 14 conversion kicks and two penalty kicks on the day.

Hannah Lewandowski and
Nicole Valli each punched in a try in a span of five minutes as the Wildcat took a 51-0 lead into halftime.
"We continue to improve," Denham said. "We have some things to work on and improve on and will keep the focus."
A pair of trys by Jen Larson in the 65
th and 67
th minute pushed the lead to 86-0 in favor of the home team.
Daja Curtis put the stamp on the match with a her third try of the match in the 78
th minute. Although the team created a lot of points, Denham said there are some areas the team needs to improve on.
"We have to work on our support when we make line breaks, and also transitions when we turnover the ball," Denham said.
The Wildcats will be back in actions Oct. 31 when they battle Oregon State University on the Wildcat Rugby Pitch.
"Building a positive relationship with Western and other local teams is important as we continue to grow the game," Denham said. "We were very grateful to have them come out and look forward to see them again in the future."
