ELLENSBURG, Wash (Oct. 31) – Freshman winger
Mckenzie Pusch scored six trys Saturday morning to help the Central Washington University women's rugby team win its Pacific Mountain Rugby Conference league match up versus Oregon State University by a score 123-5.
The Wildcats move to a perfect 8-0 on the season.
"Our goal was to work on support in our attack and execute a kicking game," Head coach
Mel Denham said. "I believe we improved in those areas a lot today which was positive."
Cassidy Meyers put the Wildcats on the board in the first minute. Meyers received an offload from
Paige Wyatt deep in Beavers' territory on her way to the score. Wyatt would tack on five more points minutes later with try of her own as she streaked down the left wing.
The Wildcats scored in consecutive minutes early in the first half as
Samantha Pinson touched the ball down for five points in the 21

The second half had a recurring theme throughout, as Pusch would find the try zone four times in the half. She had scores in the 14

Valerie Tobin put the stamp on the match with the Wildcats' 19

"Mckenzie works hard off the ball," Denham said. "She finds space and runs a great support lines which lead to opportunities. She has fire and ferocity in one-on-one situations, which is a great quality at wing."
The Wildcats will travel to the University of Oregon next weekend to play a match versus the Ducks as well as a match versus Western Oregon University.
