ELLENSBURG, Wash (Nov. 5) – The Central Washington University football (3-5, 1-3 GNAC) team will look to get back to its winning ways when it travels to Burnaby, B.C to faceoff with Simon Fraser (0-7, 0-4 GNAC) this Friday at 6 p.m.
 
The Wildcats have lost the last three contests, for the first time since 2011, however the matchup with the Clan looks to be a favorable one for CWU who has defeated SFU in 14 of the last 16 games with an average margin of victory of 27.4 points.
 
The two teams faced off earlier this season in the second annual Battle for the Border, and the Wildcat prevailed 40-7.  Simon Fraser has scored just 26 points in its last three games, all of which coming in a 37-26 loss to Western Oregon.
 
Central Washington quarterback Justin Lane will look to continue his hot streak, as he has become just the second CWU signal caller to throw for 300 or more yards in three consecutive games.  If he accomplishes this feat again this Friday, he will stand alone as the only CWU QB to have done so.
 
Lane will have his most reliable target at his disposal in wide out Jesse Zalk.  Zalk has had over 100 yards receiving in three straight contests and has scored a touchdown in each of those games.  The shifty receiver leads the GNAC in receiving yards at 631 and yards per game at 90.1.
 
However, with Burnaby expected to get a half of inch of rain the day of the contest, the CWU offense may be grounded more than usual, meaning young tailbacks Quincy Carter and Christian Cummings may play a huge role in the Wildcats ability to score this week.
